Iron Horse Equestrian Complex Summer Camp Schedule

Iron Horse is very pleased to offer our surrounding communities a one week march break camp, and othree weeks of summer camp, options that will allow mom and dad to rest assured that their children are in good hands and having the time or their lives. Safety is of primary concern so please ensure that your kids arrive daily with the following items:

2012 March Break Camp 2012 Summer Camp

What to Bring:

  • Winter coats
  • Mittens/hats/scarves
  • Snow pants/snow boots
  • Hand warmers
  • Clothes for mild-weather days (spring coat, sweaters, etc.)
  • Lunch, snacks and drinks (please place in a cooler bag with an ice pack). Bring lots of extra water.(Peanut free please!)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Children to arrive wearing pants/jeans
  • Children to arrive wearing a boot with a small heal (inexpensive hiking boots or second hand riding boots will work) *No riding in running shoes or sandals!
  • Helmet (if you do not have a helmet you can borrow one of ours but it is best to get one that will fit your child correctly)

  • Iron Horse supplies the horses/ponies & tack
  • Daily morning meet and greet
  • Grooming and Tacking up
  • Horse Safety Lessons
  • Daily Lesson Time (groups divided by experience)
  • Crafts and Organized Games
  • Nature walk to the creek and scavenger hunt (Bring shorts for wading in the water)
  • “Horse Whispering” Learn how to communicate with your horse
  • Theory Lessons – Parts of a horse, parts of a saddle etc.
  • Friday Show – Ribbons for the kids! Family and friends welcome!

  • Friday Show – Ribbons for the kids! Parents Welcome! 3:30 p.m. Showtime!

2012 March Break aCamp Dates, Time & Age Requirements:

  • March 12-16, 2012

Ages: Children aged 8 through 14

Cost: $275.00 (Includes HST and a $75.00 non-refundable deposit to be paid upon registration)

*Parents will be required to sign a waver prior to their children taking part in the summer camp holding Iron Horse Equestrian Centre harmless in the event of an accident. 

Daily Meet and Greet Time: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Camp Start Time: 9:30 a.m.

Pick Up Time: 3:30 p.m. (Friday show to end around 4:30 p.m.)
